There is no question that breastfeeding is the best way to feed your baby. And it even has good health effects for moms. Some babies latch on right away and basically teach their grateful mothers how to nurse. Others need just a little help getting started--and some mother-baby pairs need a lot of assistance and support to get things going. Breastfeeding Center for Greater Washington Excellent resource with certified lactation consultants who can meet one-on-one (for a fee) as well as in group settings (also for a fee). Nursing supplies, including pump rental, bra fitting/purchase, and more. Breastfeeding Mom's Group: New Mom topics and concerns, including breastfeeding. Experienced maternal-infant nurse/lactation consultant facilitates the group discussions. Weekly prize drawing. Complimentary parking, baby weight check, refreshments, and resource information. Ongoing, Thursdays 10:30-12noon. For the convenience of new moms, no preregistration needed. $5/session.
